Appointments
Morning and evening surgeries are by appointment only.
Patients with urgent problems will be given an emergency appointment with our nurse
specialist and, if required, will be forwarded to a GP.
It would assist us greatly if requests for urgent assessments are phoned
in before 9.30am. Nurses are still operating an open access
policy each morning between 8.30am and 12.00 noon. Evening Surgery with our nurses
is by appointment only. This is besides the specialist clinics with the nurses,
which will still be by appointment only.
Home Visits
If you are too ill to attend surgery and
wish a doctor to visit you at home, you should telephone before 10.30am,
if possible. This service is only for those who are truly
housebound. Requests for house calls after this time may result in a
delay before the doctor visits you.
Emergency Appointments
Several appointment slots of 5 minutes
each are kept free for patients who the nurse feels should be seen by a
GP that day. |
Practice Boundary
Our boundary consists of Newport, East of the River Usk from South of
Caerleon to the estuary, and South of a line from South Caerleon to
Catsash. Includes Langstone and Old Llanmartin.
Repeat Prescriptions
To obtain a repeat prescription, bring your computer slip to the surgery with the items required ticked
off. If you have lost the slip, please write down what you need. 48
hours notice is required before the prescription can be collected to
allow our staff time to deal with your request.
We discourage telephone requests for repeat prescriptions because of the
risk of mishearing a drug name and possibly a dangerous error in the
prescription occurring.
If using Community Pharmacies to pick up
your repeat prescriptions could you please be sure that you have marked
all items required and also give enough time for them to pick up your
prescription from you and bring it to us to be processed and for them to
deliver it back to you. |
