Our Services

Surgery Appointments

Morning and evening surgeries are by appointment only. Please telephone 01633 277494 to make an appointment.

Emergency Appointments

Several appointment slots of 5 minutes each are kept free for patients who the nurse feels should be seen by a GP that day.

Home Visits

If you are too ill to attend surgery and wish a doctor to visit you at home, you should telephone before 10:30am if possible. This service is only available for those who are truly housebound. Requests for a house call after this time may result in some delay before the doctor visits you.

Blood Tests & Results

Blood tests are done by the Phlebotomist by appointment only, between 8:30am and 11:30am each day. All blood tests have to be carried out before 11:30am to ensure that they are ready for picking up by the hospital collection service.

It is the patient’s responsibility to ring for results between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

Cervical Smears

These are usually carried out by the Practice Nurse at the following times:

  • Wednesday afternoon between 2:00pm and 4:00pm (by appointment); OR
  • in evening surgery (by appointment)

Also, the nurse will endeavour to see any woman who is due or overdue a smear at any other time.

It is recommended that women between the ages of 25-64 have a smear every three years. Please telephone 01633 277494. Women who wish to attend for a Well Woman Check can also come along at these times.

Baby Clinics

A Well Baby Clinic is held on the first and third Tuesday afternoon of the month at Eveswell Surgery for baby weighing and to see the Health Visitor. The Health Visitor is available at the Tredegar Clinic on a Tuesday morning and Eveswell patients are welcome.  Child vaccinations are given on a Wednesday morning with our Practice Nurses, these are by appointment only. For obvious reasons, DO NOT bring ill or possibly infectious babies to this clinic.
